We honor and cherish our precious Mama Delia as she was welcomed into her Heavenly home, meeting Jesus face to face, and the fulness of God's presence, as well as seeing her precious loving husband Tito running up to her with his arms wide open to hold onto her for the rest of eternity. She is reunited with all of the faithful family and friends in perfect peace and eternal joy. I know she will share the messages to friends and family from loved ones here on earth. This is a true Communion of Saints, taking on a perfect body, with no more sickness, pain or worry. I can imagine our Heavenly Father saying "My Good and Faithful Servant, Job Well done"!!. Mama Delia was indeed an honorable lady, well respected by her family, and her community, always working selflessly as she served others when and where she was needed. I thanked her for saving my mother's life. When they were young girls together, and out of the loving and caring hearts of the Baldassini family, my mother Adelma, her siblings Alberto, and Anna, were provided shelter, love and nourishing food, during a time when food was a scarcity. Even as a young child Mama Delia took her own food from her plate to share with my mother. My mother and her siblings stayed in Umbria from 1936 until 1946, and with all my heart, I don't think that my mother ever wanted to really return to the USA. She spoke about her homeland on a regular basis, I could see it in her eyes, because I saw tears as she spoke with a big smile and a loving tone in her voice, she missed the beauties of Umbria, and her family. The reason is because of the genuine love she was afforded. I made a promise to my mother before she went to Heaven, that I would indeed visit her homeland, and when I made that promise, I saw her eyes light up like brilliant lights on a Christmas tree. Mama Delia was blessed to have 98 years on this earth, and this is a result of her entire family's undivided attention when they cared for her, with loving meals, heartwarming conversations reminiscing of days gone by, or just holding onto her with a gentle hug, helped her to live a long and fruitful life. Sometimes, a much needed visit from her favorite doctor on the planet, her precious son, Doctor Daniele Amoni, would help her along the way. I'm so honored that I and my precious son Jason were treated by Daniele to visit Mama Delia. Our time wasn't long enough, but we will forever cherish every second of that time, and will carry her in the depths of our hearts with her indelible love so strong and pure. I'm convinced the reason why my mother wanted me so desperately to visit Umbria, is because, we saw, and felt genuine and pure unconditional love between family members, this is profoundly true. There is a true oneness in this family, and because of Mama Delia and the love and nurturing she provided to her sons, Enrico and Daniele, it transcended through their wives, their children, their grandchildren, and their great grandchildren, for decades through her family and lives on today, strong and unceasing. I will never forget how I felt sitting next to her, I was so humbled, so honored, grateful and truly blessed by Delia's presence. Her voice was soft and her essence was gentle and loving. When I hugged her, I could feel pure love, her hands clasped in mine, warm and strong and her eyes sparkled with excitement. My mind swipe across decades and I wondered what it must have been like for two young girls together in the midst of very challenging times. I carried my mother with me that day deep within my heart along with her indelible love, and a promise to go to her birthplace, but I had no idea how full my heart would be, every ounce of my being was filled with wonder, it was overwhelming and unimaginable. My mother wanted us to meet and know, what true devoted family looks like, to know it, to feel it, to see it up close and personal, and we did indeed, the experience was hugely epic. At 98 years old Mama Delia lived through the Great Depression and World War 2, and witnessed some of the 20th Century's most defining and challenging historical events. Yet, this beautiful lady rose from all that was meant to harm her, so phenomenally resilient, and so astonishingly filled with love and appreciation, cherishing everything and everyone! Her devotion to not only her family, but to her community as her family, is truly a rarity today and awe-inspiringly. Oh, if only we had more people with a heart like Mama Delia in our World today, we could say "It's a wonderful world after all" To spend time with this amazing woman was so humbling to know of her remarkable and perpetual devotion to family and community, should serve as a gold standard to all of us. She was a stunningly beautiful lady with grace and charm, but it wasn't just her appearance, it was her spirit, her heart, and her mind, and in the way she dedicated her life to others, a living example of what she wanted for her children. .Delia was blessed to see her two precious sons, Daniele, and Enrico, grow into strong, devoted men, very successful in life, and then to be blessed to marry beautiful, amazing, strong and secure women and Delia cherished her daughters-in-law, women she admired and loved deeply. Through them, she witnessed the blossoming of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each one a shining reflection of the love, wisdom, nurturing and profound honoring, and passing down of cultural traditions, customs, and values rarely seen today. This is what flowed through the generations Mama Delia helped build through her strength, dignity, and resilience. Their successes, their kindness, and compassion stand as living proof of the legacy she leaves behind. Mama Delia spent a lifetime of devotion to her extended family, yes her precious community as she supported celebrations, and lent her hands and heart to the festivals and traditions that richly bring Umbria together. Alongside Mama Delia, her beloved sister Rosita, now 100 years old, were surrounded by their whole devoted family engrained and so respectful of honoring traditions to be passed down to the youngest and cherished as well. Delia poured her passion to serve, into her family, her parish, and the community she loved, so Umbria is richer because of her. Every person she met walked away touched by her respect, her warmth, and her unceasing love. Though we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her beloved husband Tito, a husband she cherished, their love story continues beyond this life, and one day, we too will join them for a great reunion that awaits us in Heaven. Today Heaven now has her, but her spirit remains with all of us in the traditions, she upheld, the family she shaped, and a community she nourished, and every heart she touched. May her memory be a blessing. May her example be a guide, and May her love continue to light out way. Thank you Mama Delia for the love that has been woven indelibly and deeply within my heart as I carry you throughout my journey here on earth...My wish is to be more like you dear Delia, and know that I will always love you. I thank God that I share the same genes. I am so blessed. Until we meet again, Delia I carry you in the depth of my heart with the indelible love no one can take from me.
